过去一个月,升学指导中心帮助12年级同学们进行了美国和香港的大学提前批申请,陆续开始递交英国大学的申请。12年级的同学们卯足了劲儿冲刺梦校,完成文书申请、面试辅导、材料提交……然而,升学规划是一个长期的过程。在深国预,导师及升学指导老师从学生9年级就开始介入,在不同阶段通过对学生进行观察、引导、规划,跟进教学资源配置组合,针对每个学生不同的特性实现个性化服务。

I am the parent of a SIFC G12 child. My child chooses AP courses and wants to apply to universities in the United States. I have completed the ED1 and EA rounds of application. And he is still going all out to prepare for the RD round of applications.
从10年级开始,作为父母的我们就开始深入咨询、查找资讯,梳理各美国名校的录取条件,制定完备的学习计划,全力帮助孩子考入梦校。但父母再好的规划,孩子也不会按部就班地执行,因为他们尚且处在自我意识超强、贪玩、叛逆的青春期,他们甚至想要改变世界

终于,减轻压力之后,他学习反而更有乐趣了。作为父母,我们以不强求结果的心态,尽量不着痕迹地竭尽全力去推动和引导孩子完成任务,靠近目标。当然,也在时刻自我审视,控制情绪,让孩子感受到更多的温暖和支持。升学固然重要,但以和子女的关系产生隔膜甚至裂痕为代价,是得不偿失的。未来不可知,父母只要给予孩子足够的尊重和信任就好了。焦虑改变不了现实,只会让事情变得更糟。

归结起来我觉得有很重要的两点:
1.相信孩子不要小瞧他们
2.重视学校反馈,根据老师们的专业建议给到孩子相应的支持

深国预这个平台让孩子可以慢慢成长,去为自己人生的梦想做更多的探索。我们作为家长,要适当地放手,给孩子成长的空间。就像纪伯伦在诗歌《致孩子》中所说的那样:“他们通过你出生,却并非来自于你,虽然他们和你在一起,却不属于你。给他们你的爱,而不是你的思想,因为他们有自己的思想。”
SIFC allows children to grow up slowly and do more exploration for their dreams in life. As parents, we must let go appropriately and give our children room to grow. 很庆幸深国预的Serena导师、Winson老师以及其他科任老师和宿管老师们给我的帮助,有时候甚至到了晚上八九点,老师们还给我反馈孩子的情况并给出专业性建议。每次期中期末考试后参加一对一的家长会,各科目老师都不仅仅是和每位家长简单聊几句,都是有问必答、事无巨细、有疑必解的。除此之外,我们还能通过家长群、家委会活动、导师联络、邮件、PowerSchool系统等方式建立有效的家校沟通。因为选择所以相信。可能所有选择深国预的家长们也和我一样经历过迷茫,在艰难抉择后最终选择了深国预。选择这里是因为我们相信——相信学校、相信老师,相信自己,相信孩子们。每个孩子都是世界上独一无二的一朵花,只要我们耐心,就能静待花开!
